Chore Wheel
Oct. 5th, 2024 12:06 pmI am going to once again do a challenge I made myself called Chore Wheel to try to clean up a bit. I mentioned it on Cohost but I'll mention it again here, I'm gonna be playing tboi and spinning a wheel on what chore I do every time I die.
The thing is I finished Tainted Lost, and the feeling was rather bittersweet. I was saving tainted lost marks for when I needed to do chores a lot, so while I am very happy I managed to finish Tainted Lost, I'm also kinda sad because, simply put, I am way more invested in characters that unlock things.
I guess Tainted Jacob can be my new chore wheel character.

Oct. 2nd, 2024 06:47 amI got 0 sleep last night because of my insomnia. This is not an exaggeration, I was unwillingly up all night.
This has not happened in a while and now it does while my emotions are upside down, it's Not Great to say the least.
On the bright side I got a new roguelite to try and I was pleasantly surprised with how engaged I am with the story so far since the game started out feeling much more arcade-like. The game's name is Genome Guardian and without spoiling much I got chills when that voice started showing up outside runs too. Can't wait to see where it goes, I've been trying to unlock new things. Each player you can choose somehow turns the game upside down again and forces you to relearn how the game works which is VERY interesting tbh, one gripe I have is in roguelikes I tend to go 'I didn't hear no bell' and keep my grip on even the worst runs to try to save them (and even succeed sometimes on TBoI I once did the beast fight with minimal damage upgrades, I am talking near base damage, as tainted Samson) but I've learned death spirals can go on for ages without any way to save yourself. It's actually very sad to see a run start to fall and not be able to generate currency at all despite managing to defend myself (had that happen on my second Daisy run).

I was only there aat the end, less than a year, but cohost did so much for me. On tumblr my mental health deteriorated until it started heavily affecting my physical health as well, but cohost felt wonderful, a breath of fresh air, a community I felt genuinely comfortable in.
I understand the closing, I just wish it could have been saved, I wish Eggbug could have kept its lovely webhome.
I'm not sure if Dream Width is exactly a social media website, but I would rather be here than go back to tumblr for sure. That said, I am starting to feel welcome and slowly starting to get my legs under myself again. I had a lovely talk about poison ivy that cheered me up, I see a music artist I followed on cohost having made a blog as well, and I closed up shop on my ask blog finally with a lovely lil image as an end card.
Now that I am here, it's time to do what I did on cohost, and make myself a little home. Learn the culture, learn how to make friends, learn to kick habits that cause issues on this site that was better on the last.
Maybe one day I can find the ideal place to live in the internet.

Sep. 12th, 2024 08:46 pmI am gonna be the first to admit wallowing in sadness is not gonna bring cohost back, but I remember someone posting there to make a reskin of baby plum that is eggbug, I decided to revisit that and my reskin is almost complete
I am gonna release it once all the sprites are complete, and try to finish it before Cohost becomes read only.
